Revis out two weeks

New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis is expected to miss the next two weeks with a strained hamstring.

An MRI revealed the injury, which forced Revis out of last week’s game against the New England Patriots.

Revis has refused to rule himself out for next week’s game against Miami but admits that his hamstring is bothering him.

Holmes to miss start of camp

Offseason acquisition Santonio Holmes won’t be starting training camp with his new team. Citing a family matter, the team announced on Sunday that the former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver will miss the start of camp and join the Jets on Wednesday.

The news contributes to what was already set to be a less than ideal beginning for Holmes. He will miss New York’s first four games of the season while serving a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. ( Read More…)

Concerns over turf at Meadowlands

There is growing concern over the turf installed at the new stadium of the New York Giants and New York Jets.

Giants safety Antrel Rolle believes the turf is the reason why return man Domenik Hixon is out for the season with a knee injury.

Rolle said he was right there when the injury happened and that Hixon didn’t make a cut or anything. ( Read More…)

Revis sits out

New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis continues to sit out some plays in practice to protest his current contract.

Revis joked that he had a bit of a hamstring issue and also felt lightheaded before admitting he was going to do what was best for his family.

This is not the type of distraction the Jets really need right now, but if anyone can handle it, it’s head coach Rex Ryan. ( Read More…)
