The New York Jets have a few holes heading into the NFL Draft, but it remains unknown which they intend to fill.
The Jets obviously need a quarterback, but I doubt they are willing to waste a first round pick on a project like Josh Freeman.
They could always move up to try and get Mark Sanchez, but it might not be as easy as it sounds.
There is also the worry that Sanchez could turn out to be a bust and set the Jets behind several years.
The team is also very interested in a wide receiver, possibly Darrius Heyward-Bey from Maryland.

After losing out on the Jay Cutler sweepstakes, it’s now back to the drawing board for the New York Jets with regard to their shaky quarterback situation.
The team has gone with Kellen Clemens before and the results weren’t exactly pretty. Brett Favre may not have played like he did in his prime, but he was still way better than the alternatives for the Jets.
As we have seen with many teams around the NFL, no matter how much talent you have, it’s hard to win without at least solid play at the quarterback position.
The Jets are in a tough spot because there is not a single quarterback on the free agent market now that would be considered an upgrade over Clemens.
My guess is that the Jets will look to try and grab a quarterback in the draft, possibly Mark Sanchez if they get really lucky or decide to trade up to get him.

The Jets have expressed interest in Cowboys restricted free agent wide receiver Miles Austin. However, it seems the Jets are reluctant to part with a second-round pick (52nd overall) in exchange for Austin with the Cowboys. The Jets have until this Friday, April 17 to make a decision.
