New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has been fined $50,000 by the team for his recent actions.
Ryan was at a Mixed Martial Arts event in Miami when he was introduced to the crowd.
The crowd booed Ryan, as many were probably Dolphins fans already sick of the loud-mouthed head coach.
Ryan responded by flipping the crowd off with his middle finger, though it did appear as though it was all in good fun.
The Jets quickly criticized his actions and Ryan issued an apology, but apparently that wasn’t enough.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is back in the news again, and it’s not for anything positive.
Ryan, attending an MMA event in Florida, was booed when his name was announced to the crowd.
The head coach, displeased by his reception, gave the crowd the middle-finger salute.
Ryan eventually apologized for his actions, and the Jets issued a statement expressing their disappointment.
This type of conduct is subject to review by the NFL, so Ryan could be hearing from the league office.

The New York Jets fined coach Rex Ryan $50,000 on Tuesday for flipping his middle finger at fans during a mixed martial arts event on Saturday evening.
Ryan, whose brash behavior has been well-documented by the media this year, was caught making his obscene gesture on cell phone cameras…and ask Michael Phelps how that can turn out.
While the team fined Ryan, the NFL could also be levying a fine based on its conduct policy. After the Tennessee Titans beat the Buffalo Bills in November, owner Bud Adams was caught flipping the bird to Bills fans; the NFL fined Adams $250,000.
Ryan issued words of apology in a written statement, calling his actions “stupid.”
“I wouldn’t accept that type of behavior from one of the coaches or players and it’s unacceptable from me,” he said in the statement.

New York Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez is contemplating undergoing surgery on his left knee.
Sanchez suffered an injury in college that caused a stabilization issue with his left knee and went to see Dr. Andrews for an opinion.
It’s not the same knee that Sanchez injured when he dove/slide awkward for a first down against the Buffalo Bills in Toronto.
Andrews also examined that knee during Sanchez’ visit and found no lingering issues.
After missing a game, Sanchez returned to the lineup and looked to have no lasting effects from that injury.

New York Jets safety Kerry Rhodes has not idea what the future holds for him, and neither does the team.
Rhodes, who was demoted earlier in the year, played very well in the playoffs to potentially boost his stock.
Head coach Rex Ryan has had private conversations with Rhodes, but no one knows what was said.
Rhodes and defensive coordinator Mike Pettine have not gotten along, although it’s important to note that Ryan is dialing up most of the schemes and plays.
Rhodes was once considered one of the building blocks of the franchise, but things might be different now.
The New York Jets made it a game for about a half before falling apart in a 30-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Jets scored the first touchdown of the game and took a surprising, 17-13 lead into the locker room.
However, the second half was a totally different story. New York’s defense couldn’t stop Peyton Manning, and the offense couldn’t move the ball.
The Colts stuffed the running game and really tightened up in the secondary after giving up chunks of yardage in the first half.
Despite the disappointing ending, the Jets certainly have nothing to hang their heads about in reaching the AFC championship game.
New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis suffered a broken left hand in his team’s win over the San Diego Chargers.
Ellis said he was injured on the first play of the game when his hand just gave out while being blocked by a lineman.
He said he then just tried to finish out the series and when he got to the sidelines, showed the trainers the injury.
The hand was placed in a cast that made his arm a club, and he eventually returned to the game.
Ellis said he will definitely play against the Colts, but will have surgery after the game regardless of the outcome.

The New York Jets get their second shot at the Indianapolis Colts in the past month in the AFC championship game.
It’s interesting how much excitement there is around the upstart Jets and how little surrounds the Colts.
For the Jets, no one expected them to get this far, and they’ve had to pull off two upsets to get it done.
For the Colts, they are exactly where everyone expects them to be and facing a huge underdog with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. Many seem to consider it a done deal.
The Jets beat the Colts just a few weeks ago, but Indianapolis rested its starters for the second half. I think it’s closer than expected, but the Colts are just too good. Colts 24, Jets 17
The New York Jets used another dominant defensive effort to upset the San Diego Chargers, 17-14.
Jim Leonhard made the biggest play of the game, intercepting a pass deep in San Diego territory.
The resulting touchdown put the Jets ahead, 10-7, and gave them real hope that they could pull out a victory.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez did not play as well this week, but he avoided costly turnovers that would put his defense on a short field.
New York now goes to face the Indianapolis Colts, who they beat in the second to last game of the season.

The New York Jets look to make some more noise this weekend when they travel to face the San Diego Chargers.
The Jets have made the most of their surprising playoff berth, knocking off the Cincinnati Bengals in an impressive first-round victory.
The task this week will be decidedly harder, as many feel the Chargers are the hottest team in the NFL.
The good news for the Jets is that they seem to match up well with San Diego’s strengths and weaknesses.
The Chargers throw the ball really well, but the Jets have good pass defense. San Diego can’t stop the run, and New York is the best running team in the league. They might just have a shot at pulling off a shocking upset. Chargers 24, Jets 20
